Greenidge Generation celebrates a year of giving
As 2021 wears off, employees at Greenidge Generation are celebrating a successful year of using compassion, collaborative skills and talents to improve the quality of life in the Yates County community.
DRESDE – This is the time of year to make lists and double check them. The much attention-grabbing list at Greenidge Generation details the many ways employee efforts have improved the quality of life in the community. Over the past 12 months, the power plant has contributed nearly $ 275,000 to local projects.
From giveaways to community projects such as Coats for Kids, to funding new life-saving equipment for Dresden’s firefighters, to a partnership with Friends of the Outlet, owner of the Keuka Outlet Trail, Greenidge Generation has supported efforts that touch thousands of lives in the Yates. Seneca Lake County and Community.
âAs we rapidly develop this powerhouse and blockchain business, the energy of our employees is also focused on having a greater impact on the quality of life in their hometowns,â said CEO Dale Irwin. âWe are so proud to be a part of so many laudable efforts that touch lives in hundreds of ways, and we all look forward to continuing to work with a variety of community organizations. “
Most of the projects supported by the company have been directly suggested by employees, who have specific interests and know the needs of the community. And many of them bring together teams of employees, entrepreneurs, consultants, and community groups to achieve goals through collaboration.
Here are examples of how Greenidge Generation has given back to the community:
Friends of the Outlet: In addition to an annual corporate sponsorship, Greenidge Generation is actively working with Friends of the Outlet to establish a popular trail extension to reach Seneca Lake.

Dresden village: Greenidge employees and contractors are working with the village of Dresden to build a new playground in the village, and earlier this year the company sponsored an electronic sign welcoming people to the village with various community messages. Greenidge also sponsored the music at the Dresden Gazebo during the summer.
New York State Sheriff’s Camp: A donation to camp helps ensure that more young people in New York State can enjoy a camp experience on Keuka Lake.
Yates County Hope Walk: A sponsorship supports programs for Yates County residents and families battling cancer.
Habitat for Humanity: A contribution to the construction of a new house.
Penn Yan Events: Sponsorships helped launch the Penn Yan Fall Festival and support the popular StarShine event.

Other contributions in 2021 included gifts to the Yates County Tuberculosis & Health Association, Dundee Christmas Project, Coats for Kids; Coffee and cards at Milly’s Pantry; PYTCO / Sampson Theater; the Peasantman Triathlon; and golf tournaments benefiting YCC Elevate Youth and the Mission Share Outreach Center.
