HKEX offers electronic dissemination of corporate action data


Market participants will be able to receive information on securities transactions in the form of ISO messages via SWIFT from September 27.

HKEX (Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing) is launching a new service allowing subscribers to receive information on securities transactions electronically in ISO format.

The ISO Securities Trading Messaging Service will be available for subscription from HKSCC (Hong Kong Securities Clearing Company) from August 30, 2021 and will be effective September 27, 2021.

“The new CA ISO messaging service will provide an additional channel to existing channels such as CCASS terminals and participant gateways for participants to receive securities transaction information in the form of ISO messages via SWIFT,” HKSCC said. in a circular.

As part of the new service, electronic forms will be introduced to standardize the presentation of certain types of issuer information.

Once an electronic form is published or updated by issuers or their authorized agents, the HKSCC will convert the information contained in the electronic form into corresponding ISO messages for distribution to subscribers.

A 12-month subscription fee waiver will be offered to any participant who has successfully subscribed to the ISO securities trading messaging service during that year.

The types of securities transactions to be covered in the new service include cash dividends, free issuance of shares or warrants, interest payments and meeting notifications.

New CCASS functions and reports are also introduced for the new service.
