Tiruppur Corporation Focuses on Proper Disposal of Electronic Waste
In order to tackle the challenges posed by e-waste accumulating in homes, offices and other establishments, the Tiruppur City Company on Sunday launched a campaign to collect e-waste and dispose of it properly.
Tiruppur Company Commissioner Kranti Kumar Pati launched the campaign on company premises in which 3.15 tonnes of electronic waste was collected.
The launch of the training, organized by the civic body with Thuppuravaalan and the Rotary Club of North Tiruppur, Mr. Pati requested the cooperation of the public to properly dispose of electronic waste.
Electronic waste generated in homes, industries, restaurants and private institutions and other establishments was collected through the special reader.
According to the commissioner, the waste generated within the boundaries of society is collected as biodegradable and non-biodegradable by conservation workers and bins placed in the localities. He stressed the need for proper electronic waste disposal to keep the city clean.
Company officials, conservation workers, Santhosh de Thuppuravaalan organization, Padmanaban of the Riders Club and Surendran of the Rotary Club of Tiruppur north were present at the launch of the electronic waste collection.
